                                    Yamaha was produced its initial products in india at 1985. in August 2001, india becomes a 100% of subsidiary of yamaha motor co... Ltd. In 2008 mitsui & co..Ltd enterd into an agreement with YMC to become a joint-investor in the motorcycle company " india yamaha motor private company(IYM).

                                    

                                    IYM's manufacturing comprise of 2 state of the art plants at Haryana and Uttar pradesh. The infrastructure of both the plants supports manufacture motorcycles and parts of the domestic as well as overseas of market.The uttar pradesh plants was established in 1984 and its spread over area of 36000 sq.  mts. it has capacity to produce a 1 million motorcycle and scooters per annually.

                                   The Haryana plants was established in 1965 and it was upgraded in 2008 for manufacturing of machined parts like shafts, gear and crank, clutch,crank case...etc.

                                 The newly formed Yamaha motor india sales pvt.. Ltd. is intended further strengthen the sales & marketing unit of which is responsible for sales and promotion.Initially yamaha  products are produced with the two stroke engine types . yamaha had a collaboration  with the erstwhile Escort company in Haryana who were in manufacturing  of Rajdoot motorcycle.Then the yamaha produce a two stroke bike of RX100 at 1985.They mostly assembled with the japanes spares . they were  generated light bike with 11 bhp power and had phenomenal rate of acceleration. This made them an instant hit in young at heart.they were however expensive to buy.
